How to be reimbused by an owner and not pay tax
Hi we have just taken over management rights. Last time I used console was in 2002 so it has been a while.
An owner wanted us to replace his cooktop as it was old. So I purchased a new $360 cooktop and paid via my personal credit card. My question is how do I get paid back. Our rights are owned by our company. I was going to make a jornal payment from Owner to my Company Maintenance Creditor and then from my company to me. However if I take the $360 as a maintenance then this will be treated as income and I have to pay GST on it. What do I need to do ? Question 2 Also does anyone know how to write a message on an owners statement - seems easy I know but I can't find where to do it. I used to when doing maintenance just write a quick msg to say ... we fixed a tap etc. Kind Regards Troy and Davina |

Re: How to be reimbused by an owner and not pay tax
I would set yourself up as a creditor (maybe call the creditor reimburse credit card payment) and then just do a payment to yourself for the cost. Put the details as cooktop and disection as appliance (or the like) so its clear on the owners statement & financial year statement.. Scan the invoice and save it as a doc to the creditor if you think necessary for your records.. I think you can mark it as GST in the payment as GST was paid on the item.. (I dont think you need to worry about remitting any GST if you are just getting reimbursed..)

Perfect answer Ken
The second question regarding statement message, if you just want a one off message you can go into the owners tools, statement options and type a statement message. If you would like a global message for all owners this can be found in the main Gateway Tools & Options, Statement Tab.
