Hi Guys... need help here on a Friday nite....
We had a tenant living in this apartment for 6 months without opening the gas account. No bills received and paid for 6 months.
I dont know which gas co. is supplying the gas so I have beening trying to ring up everybody, but no one is billing this address.
We are still holding the bond coz i dont know how to work this out, are they goin to get away from paying the gas bill?

I dont see this as your problem or worry unless the gas account is still connected in the landlords name. I see this as a matter between the gas company and the occupant and wouldnt get involved.

I would advise the new tenants to connect gas with whom ever they want.

Hi - I had a similar thing happen in my own rental property. It was bottled gas though and the tenant just used up all the gas in the bottles and it wasn't until the new tenant moved in to empty gas bottles that they complained about having to pay such a large fee to fill them.
I am assuming this is natural gas though so a very different scenario.
Ken, I think your right. Check with the owner if they had it in their name? And if the gas company let it go for 6 months without billing then they would probably write it off as bad debt.
